Why Yoda Was Wrong & Luke Was Right

I think having the mentors mess up in such a crucial point is the drive that made George Lucas create Star Wars in the first place. Science fiction has always been a means to show people the right door to choose while giving them the right to make their own damn mind up.

 

Mast Yoda has to be one of the iconic characters in the universe no matter what galaxy or how far away he might be, but I doubt that was the main theme of the story. Even in Greek Mythology, love is the ultimate power of the universe, but it the hardest thing to maintain. Ever walk in life we have to make choices. Believe it or not, there are no right or wrong answers to how we live our lives. It is the overpowering truth our actions can have consequences. We are solely responsible for our final actions. No one can do it for us. That is why Luke Skywalker had done all he did in the movies… even go against the wishes of his mentors. If he obeyed them blindly, the Dark-side would have won the day.

 

In our galaxy and nation, we are faced with another Palpatine, but it is not a person as you may think, but the entity of the corruption itself. Getting rid of a number of politicians may not do anything at all in getting rid of the corruption. Like algae or bacteria, the corruption in our federal government will keep on growing spite who and what we vote for into a particular office. In knowing American History and reading the Federalist Papers, I came to the conclusion that our Founding Fathers not only created the Declaration of Independence, in which allows us to reform or uproot the corruption in our government, but the Constitution of the United States of America in the realization they realized corruption is always a possibility.

 

When government for one reason or the other makes new laws in order to state, “I am giving you more freedom,” is a lie to take all your liberties away from you a little at a time in order for anyone to realize it until it is far too late to do anything about it. That was how Palpatine manipulated all that fell to the Dark-side, including Anakin Skywalker. Politicians use fear mongering to destroy truth and reason of the citizens in order to get votes. Aloft Hitler did this to the extreme and murdered millions of people and nearly wiped out a race of people in the process if he could get away with it. When these beings of power lust get what they want, everyone loses. Did Palpatine give freedom to the galaxy when Anakin became Darth Vader? What about Hitler and other dictators of Earth’s past? Tyranny always gloats over the dystopia of the citizens they are supposed to serve.

 

John Dalberg-Acton once said, “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men.” That is the story of Star Wars and so many science fiction stories to this very day. How ironic the movie, Star Wars: Rogue One came to us as if it was an omen to our plight we are facing today. If I understand the new movie, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, it too is a powerful force to reckon with. I do hope it does not imply “The last of the United States of America.” Hopefully, it is a warning that WE THE PEOPLE will wake up to before it is too late to do anything about the current events that is going on in Washington, D.C., USA.

 

Never give up on the fight. Remember never give up Hope. Recall what Leia said, “The more you tighten your grip talk, the more star systems will slip through your fingers.” We have something more powerful than the force, The Declaration of Independence & the Constitution of the United States of America. If we all work as one, we can do many things. After all… “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”
