We Quarrel, They Win

“The unjust person acts against the gods. For insofar as the nature of the universe made rational creatures for the sake of each other, with an eye toward mutual benefit based on true value and never for harm, anyone breaking nature’s will obviously acts against the oldest of gods.”

Why are we fighting one another in the United States of America so dynamically?  Is it really the fault of Donald Trump or was it in us all along?  I think it is much more than what we may think.  Let me give you a history lesson:  the industrial age started around 1760.  Americanism started on two important dates:  July 4, 1776 & September 17, 1787.  Put yourself as a corporate elitist; would you be appalled by a government giving so much Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness?  Of course, you would.

It is natural for humankind to be free with government over us to protect and serve under a Rule of Law — a Republic.  Yes, we have many calling our government, a Democracy.  Let look at what our Founding Fathers had to say about a Democracy.

“A government of laws, and not of men.”
John Adams, Novanglus Papers, 1774

“There is danger from all men. The only maxim of a free government ought to be to trust no man living with power to endanger the public liberty.”
John Adams, Notes for an Oration at Braintree, Massachusetts, 1772

“Any government is free to the people under it where the laws rule and the people are a party to the laws.”
William Penn, Frame of Government, 1682

"Democracy, will soon degenerate into an anarchy, such an anarchy that every man will do what is right in his own eyes, and no man's life or property or reputation or liberty will be secure and every one of these will soon mold itself into a system of subordination of all the moral virtues, and intellectual abilities, all the powers of wealth, beauty, wit, and science, to the wanton pleasures, the capricious will, and the execrable cruelty of one or a very few."
John Adams

"The evils we experience flow from the excess of democracy. The people do not want virtue, but are the dupes of pretended patriots."
Elbridge Gerry

"Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide."
John Adams

"A simple democracy is the devil's own government."
Benjamin Rush

"Too many... love pure democracy dearly. They seem not to consider that pure democracy, like pure rum, easily produces intoxication, and with it a thousand mad pranks and fooleries.”
John Jay

"It is one of the evils of democratical governments, that the people, not always seeing and frequently misled, must often feel before they can act right; but then evil of this nature seldom fail to work their own cure."
George Washington

"A democracy is a volcano which conceals the fiery materials of its own destruction. These will produce an eruption and carry desolation in their way."
Fisher Ames

"If we incline too much to democracy, we shall soon shoot into a monarchy."
Alexander Hamilton

"Where a majority are united by a common sentiment, and have an opportunity, the rights of the minor party become insecure."
James Madison

"Democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths."
James Madison

"Real liberty is neither found in despotism or the extremes of democracy, but in moderate governments."
Alexander Hamilton

Rule of Law gives both the Majority and Minority a voice and the best justice that humanity can give.  Under our Republic, "It is best to let a guilty man to go free than to convict an innocent man." A majority rule can take away one's rights, property, children, etc. with no checks and balances that our Republic protects.

When we fight among each other on petty and childish things, we erode our Republic and the corporate elite wins.
